Hard-boiled theologian Tom Roberts is broke and hungry, not a good place to be during the 17th Century. He takes what should be a simple job, protecting the valuables of a woman known as the Duchess. All women are a mystery to Tom, but the Duchess is even more so, and she holds her secrets close. But the job turns out not so simple and Tom becomes entangled with pirates yet again.
